Description

This course is designed for Licensed Heating Oil and Gas Technicians, HVAC Technicians, or Licensed Electricians. To register, students must provide State of Maine License Number; or by instructor permission. This course will provide the student with an expanded level of skills to install and service single zone mini-split heat pumps. During the course the student will install one single zone mini-split heat pump. Topics to be covered are basic heat pump/refrigeration cycle, heat pump mechanical/electrical. Lab activities include electrical wiring, piping techniques, leak testing, evacuation, charging, refrigerant recovery, plus operation and maintenance of mini-split heat pumps.
