Description

Heavy Vehicle Extrication is a program by Maineiac Fire Training that discusses the four phases of heavy
vehicle extrication; and the steps necessary to disentangle occupants from accidents involving a heavy
vehicle. You will learn how the energy is transferred to smaller vehicles from much larger ones and how this
energy impacts the damage that occurs. You will be provided the basic knowledge and skills necessary to
operate safely at these complex crash-sites. You will also learn how to navigate a school bus accident. You
will learn Command presence, about resources available and how to utilize them, about media
coverage, school liaisons, and how to communicate with parents and witnesses respectfull
