Description

EMS 233 Paramedic Emergencies III 3 Credits
This course provides students with a comprehensive review of the pathophysiology, kinematics and management of the trauma patient. Topics include multi-systems trauma, spinal injury, orthopedic injury and burn care. Students completing the course will receive a certificate in Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS). (Note: there may be an additional cost for ACLS certification). (60 lec hours) Prerequisites: EMS 210, 202, 205, and 206 and currently licensed/licensable as an EMT-Intermediate; Successful completion of all NEEMS required pre-admission testing; Advisor approval.
