Description

HUS 220 Substance Abuse 3 credits
Provides an introduction to theoretical knowledge and skills necessary to provide human services to clients who have substance abuse issues. Emphasis is placed on evidence-based treatment for addictions, resources and the impact of stigma. History and contributions of the recovery movement are explored. Consideration is given to current trends, cultural context and primary prevention and intervention resources. (3 lec) Prerequisites: HUS 101, HUS 110, HUS 120, HUS 130, HUS 140
