MAS 231 Medical Assistant Externship 5 Credits
This capstone course allows students to gain practical experience in providing clinical care to patients and performing administrative and clinical tasks that occur in a medical office. Students are given the opportunity to apply learned clinical, laboratory and administrative skills in a health care setting under professional supervision and to gain clinical proficiency. Students are required to complete a 160 hour unpaid, supervised practicum in a program approved health care setting. (l lec, 160 hours). Prerequisites: All MAS coursework and Program Director approval; CPR certification.
