Funds are awarded to EMCC students who face an emergency situation or unanticipated and compelling circumstances that jeopardize their ability to successfully continue in school. Awards are not expected to be repaid.
The EMCC Foundation maintains and awards over 70 scholarships annually. Our scholarships serve students with high financial need, those from rural areas, non-traditional students and first time college students. The application is free and we can match you to an available scholarship. ALL scholarships require personalized thank you notes and some require an essay. Include as much information in the application as possible to promote yourself!

The Adult Learner Scholarship provides up to $1500 to support participation in a 2- or 4-year degree program, a non-degree certification, or a well-defined self-directed learning experience. The scholarship is geared towards nontraditional students (defined as over 25, working 35+ hours/week, having dependents other than a spouse, financially independent from parents, having not received a high school diploma, OR having delayed enrollment in college for reasons other than a gap year).
Maine Community Foundation scholarships provide financial assistance for Maine residents attending accredited colleges, universities or technical schools.

The Sallie Mae Fund, in partnership with Thurgood Marshall College Fund is providing 260 scholarships to help students from underserved communities complete their higher education. Applications will be accepted until all scholarship funds are awarded or on until June 28, 2024. Eligible students must be on track to complete their program during the academic year 2023-24 in a 2 or 4 year college, career training, and other post secondary education programs and maintain good academic standing.
