Financial Aid Advance Payment

For the Fall or Spring term, if you are in good academic/financial aid standing and would like access to some of your anticipated financial aid refund go to this  link to complete the Financial Aid Advance (FAA)  form.  This Advance Payment is only available for fall and spring term (not summer). 

The Business Office reviews your advance form after the term begins.  If it is approved, the Business Office will issue a check to you and mail it either the Tuesday or Friday following their approval.

To begin your 2022-2023 Free Application for Federal Student Aid application (FAFSA), select the “START HERE” button on the FAFSA homepage or download the myStudentAid app for iOS and Android.  Use this application to apply for financial assistance for Fall 2023/Spring 2024/Summer 2024. 

 

Note:  If you are requesting financial aid for Spring 2024 or Summer 2024 you will need to complete the 2023-2024 FAFSA found on the same site!

     The Federal Student Aid User ID (FSA ID) serves as your electronic signature and provides access to your personal records.

     Loan Entrance counseling is required before you can receive your first Direct Subsidized or Unsubsidized Loan as an undergraduate student at EMCC.

     A Master Promissory Note (MPN) is the legal document you sign and promise to repay your Federal Direct loan(s) and any accrued interest and fees to the U.S. Department of Education. The MPN document explains the terms and conditions of your loan(s). 

     Loan Exit counseling is required when you graduate, leave school, or drop below Half-time enrollment (less than 6 credits). Exit counseling provides important information you need to prepare to repay your federal student loan(s).

     The National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) is the U.S. Department of Education's (ED's) central database for student aid. NSLDS receives data from schools, guaranty agencies, the Direct Loan program, and other Department of ED programs.

US Department of Education central point to several tools that allow students and parent to copare colleges tuition and fees, net price and other characteristics.
